Three cars were badly damaged in the town of Ipswich, Queensland in Australia earlier this week when one of the vehicles allegedly blasted through a stop sign.

Dashcam footage of the incident shows the camera cruising along a two-lane road at 50 km/h (31 mph) when a dark blue ute comes into view from the left. Without a care in the world, the driver of the ute drives straight past a stop sign and slams into the front of the cammer’s vehicle which is then rear-ended by an E46-generation BMW 3-Series following closely behind.

A look at the rear-facing camera of the car hit shows that immediately after the incident, the driver of the ute, which appears to be an early 2000’s Mazda Bravo, turns on the ute’s damaged engine and tries to reverse, likely in an attempt to flee the scene. However, the male driver of the car hit isn’t having any of it and runs across to him, yelling through the side window and getting him to stop. A pair of shirtless gentlemen who appear to have witnessed the crash then arrive on the scene to lend their assistance.

A YouTuber user claims the driver of the Mazda was uninsured at the time of the crash and was “roadside positive” meaning he was either driving under the effects of alcohol or drugs. If those two claims are true then it’s quite obvious why the man may have tried to flee the scene of the accident.

Fortunately, it doesn’t look as though anyone was injured in the crash.
