If you’re familiar with our Geneva Motor Show A-To-Z Guide, you know that Alfa Romeo is not listed as having any premieres.

That doesn’t mean the Italian brand won’t attend the event that will kick off next week; as it turns out, they do have a new model to display. In a very mysterious teaser posted on social media over the weekend, Alfa Romeo said something about “a momentous comeback” at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show.

The short video puts the spotlight on the meaty engine sound of the vehicle that is expected to bear an iconic moniker, but other than that, your guess is as good as ours as to what it is.

This year, Alfa Romeo will celebrate its 110th anniversary, and they’re reportedly planning to bring back the GTA (Gran Turismo Alleggerita – GT ‘Lightened’) nameplate, which is rumored to be applied to a hotter version of the Giulia Quadrifoglio.

According to reports, it will boast 620 HP, or 120 HP more than the stock BMW M3 and Mercedes-AMG C63 S fighter, and will be lighter. The model also surfaced online a couple of days ago, but it is understood to premiere on June 24, on Alfa’s birthday.

In the product road map released almost two years ago, Alfa Romeo confirmed the revival of the GTV and 8C, and the launch of two more SUVs. That plan has since been dismantled by parent company FCA, though a new high-rider, the Tonale, is still coming and will join the likes of the Stelvio. So, what do you think the Italian auto firm is cooking for the Geneva Show?
