The Audi RS6 Avant, Mercedes-AMG E 63 S Wagon, BMW M5 Competition, and Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo are four of the most exciting and powerful sedans/estates on the market but which is the fastest? CarWow has the answer.
In an age where extreme SUVs and crossovers are all the rage, these four models show that there is still room in the market for more traditionally-shaped cars that combine practicality, luxury, and comfort with neck-snapping performance.

First, the stats. The Audi RS6 Avant is outfitted with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 delivering 591 hp and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque that sends its power through all four wheels. Similarly, the E 63 S Wagon (and its sedan sibling) also features a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 but has a small power advantage with 603 hp on tap.
The BMW M5 Competition uses a slightly larger 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 that’s good for 617 hp and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque. Last but not least we have the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo that offers up no less than 671 hp and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm) of torque thanks to its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 working alongside an electric motor. Like all the others, it is all-wheel drive.
The quartet was put through a series of performance tests, including quarter-mile drag races and rolling races. We won’t ruin the results but will say that there’s a clear winner and a clear loser. Place your bets and check out the video after the jump to see which is the king.
