Austrian car and motorcycle manufacturer KTM will become the third brand to enter the new GT2 racing class with the all-new X-Bow GTX, of which we received a pair of official computer-generated images and the first bit of info.
Looking pretty impressive in these teaser pictures, the new car will debut later this year and will be powered by an Audi-sourced 2.5-liter five-cylinder turbo engine that will produce 600 HP in GT2 guise and 500-plus in GTX form.

Combined with a weight figure of just 1,000 kg (2,204 lbs), the new KTM X-Bow GT2 boasts a ratio of less than 2,0 kg/HP.
“We transfer KTM’s essential brand elements – extreme, performance and purity – together with KTM’s core areas of expertise, which include state-of-the-art motorsports technology, extremely lightweight construction and the highest quality components, in a racing car that clearly reflects the signs of the times,” said KTM board member Hubert Trunkenpolz.
As you may have heard, 2020 will see the debut of a new GT2 racing class that allows more power and less aero than GT3 cars, with the Austrian brand’s new racer to go up against Porsche and Audi. KTM is also the first manufacturer to offer a fully homologated monocoque with a GT cage and advanced seat, the latter being optional.
The company has already raced a mule version of the new X-Bow race car at the 24 Hours of Barcelona last August together with Reiter Engineering and says it will produce an initial batch of 20 cars later this year, once the GT2 model gets fully homologated.
