Inside, the 5-Series is starting to show its age a little more than from the outside but even still, it looks like a nice place to sit in, thanks particularly to the Sand Beige leather interior that comes complete with matching door panels and carpeting. There are also wooden accents across the dashboard, door panels, and center console, as well as power-adjustable and heated front seats complete with memory functions. A look at the odometer reveals the car has only ever been driven 35,000 miles (roughly 56,000 km).

Then we come to the powertrain. Driving the 2001 540i is a naturally-aspirated 4.4-liter V8 engine with no less than 282 hp at 5,400 rpm and 324 lb-ft (439 Nm) of torque at 3,600 rpm.
