Want a vehicle that combines the looks of one of the U.S.’s most iconic muscle cars with the go-anywhere capability of one of the nation’s best 4x4s? Say hello to the Ford Mustorer, an SUV that’s half Mustang and half second-generation Ford Explorer (or its Mercury Mountaineer-twin).
Images of this wacky creation were recently shared on Reddit and it’s certainly a sight to behold. We’re not sure where these images were snapped but the vehicle is rocking Georgia license plates and looks like it may have been sitting in the same spot for quite some time.

Up front, you’ll notice the Ford is rocking the front bumper and headlights of a fifth-generation Mustang while also sporting an aftermarket grille. It’s hard to say whether legitimate Mustang parts have been used or if they are instead simply replica parts from the aftermarket. Either way, the new front fascia certainly looks the part. Also found up front is a chrome bulbar with two large spotlights.
As if that wasn’t enough, it appears as though the front wheel arches and hood have also been lifted straight from a fifth-gen Mustang.
Look at the sides of the 4×4 and you will notice prominent metal side steps. At the rear, there is an extended bumper and striking chrome tailpipes.
We’ve got no idea what motivated the owner of the Explorer to perform such bold modifications but the handiwork looks to be quite good.
