Had the 2020 Geneva Motor Show not fallen victim to the coronavirus threat, we’re pretty sure Koenigsegg would have stolen the show with their the all-new Gemera.

Top Gear visited the Swedish marque’s stand in Geneva and spoke with Christian von Koenigsegg about the car.

Described by Koenigsegg as a “Mega-GT,” the Gemera seats four adults in comfort plus luggage thanks to a 3 meter long (118 inch) wheelbase. Both front and rear-seat occupants gain access to the cabin through a pair of massive dihedral doors.

According to von Koenigsegg, he wanted to design a four-seater that looks like a hypercar from the outside and consequently, decided against making it a four-door.

What’s even more remarkable than the cabin layout of the Gemera is the fact that it is mid-engined and actually churns out more power than the Jesko and Regera. Sitting directly behind the cabin is a tiny twin-turbocharged 2.0-liter three-cylinder Freevalve engine that produces a remarkable 600 hp and 442 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque.

Complementing this innovative camless engine are three electric motors. Two of these motors power the rear wheels while there is a third one mounted to the crankshaft. All up, the mega-GT churns out 1,700 hp and 2,581 lb-ft (3,500 Nm) of torque and can hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 1.9 seconds and cruise at 248 mph (400 km/h).

Towards the end of this clip, von Koenigsegg confirms that the company will build 300 examples of the Gemera and that U.S. prices will start at $1.7 million.
