A one-off Porsche 928 Spyder built by Canadian company Wingho Auto is currently up for sale on Hemmings with an $80,000 price tag.

This speedster is based around a Porsche 928 from 1978 but has undergone a series of comprehensive modifications to make it look unlike any other Porsche on earth. The reason why the 928 Spyder from Wingho looks so different than a normal 928 is that the bodywork is all-new and it is only the former’s chassis and running gear that are featured.

As reported by Canada’s Driving, the Paul Deutschman-designed 1993 conversion kit “never took off”, but the single prototype model built did and survives to this day.

In creating distinctive bodywork for the Porsche, Wingho Auto opted for a sleek and unassuming look with subtle bumpers and a simple two-tone silver paint scheme. The car also sits on a set of special five-spoke wheels and has a tiny wraparound windshield like a true Speedster. The interior is also particularly eye-catching thanks to a mix of yellow and blue leather.

No apparent changes have been made to the vehicle’s powertrain meaning that it likely retains the same 4.5-liter V8 engine as all other 928s built in 1978. This engine was good for 219 hp from the factory and 268 lb-ft (363 Nm) of torque.

The listing reveals that the vehicle has only ever traveled 8,500 miles (13,679 km). An $80,000 asking price is not cheap and we have a sneaking suspicion the seller may struggle to find a buyer for that price, even if the vehicle is indeed unique.
