Neither the 2020 Audi S8 or 2020 BMW M760i are full-blown RS or M models but in this video from Throttle House, you’ll discover that both offer more than enough performance.
Sitting at the heart of Auid’s sumptuous S8 is a 4.0-liter TFSI twin-turbo V8 engine complete with mild-hybrid technology that churns out a seriously-impressive 563 hp at 6,000 rpm and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque between 2,000 rpm and 4,500 rpm.
Sending this power through all-four wheels is an eight-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. Audi says the massive S8 can hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.8 seconds and reach an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).

By comparison, the BMW M760i uses a 6.6-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine with no less than 600 hp and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque. This power is also sent through all four wheels courtesy of an 8-speed automatic transmission, and results in a 0-62 mph (100 km/h) time of approximately 3.6 seconds.
On paper then, the two are very evenly matched. But how do they perform in the real world?
As Throttle House discovers, both are very impressive and handle corners much better than one may expect from cars that are so big. Of course, these cars are about much more than performance and also have to be comfortable to drive and to ride as a passenger in. Both also have lovely interiors but which will get the nod in this review?
