Ford has provided some details about how the all-electric Mustang Mach-E is selling across the U.S. with confirmation that reservations have been made in all 50 states.
As of late January, reports indicated that Ford had secured in excess of 32,000 reservations and that number continues to grow. While the automaker itself hasn’t confirmed how many orders have been received, it has revealed that nearly 75 per cent of those placing a reservation have opted for one of the all-wheel drive models.
Fittingly, all-wheel drive Mustang Mach-E models are proving particularly popular in states such as Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire with more than 9 in 10 customers going for the grip-focused setup. In contrast, the available Mach-E with the extended range battery and rear-wheel drive is selling well in states such as California, Nevada, Colorado, Arizona, and Washington.
An image published by Ford also shows which available colors are proving the most popular in each state. As it stands, Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat looks to be the most popular option, followed by Carbonized Gray and Infinite Blue Metallic Tinted Clearcoat. Interestingly, the eye-catching Grabber Blue of some initial show cars isn’t the most popular color in any of the 50 states.

“Since revealing the Mustang Mach-E last November, we have seen a high level of interest from customers around the world. We designed the Mustang Mach-E with the aim to deliver an electric, guilt-free, performance SUV while providing peace of mind through our strong dealership network,” global director of Electric Vehicle Marketing & Distribution at Ford, Mark Kaufman said. “Our strategy is working. With reservations from coast to coast in the US, we look forward to growing our reservations and delivering this SUV in late 2020.”
The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E is available from $43,895 before the available $7,500 federal tax incentive. Deliveries are set to kick-off later this year.
