Jeremy Clarkson has revealed that filming of The Grand Tour has been delayed due to travel concerns related to the coronavirus.

Ever since The Grand Tour’s ‘Seamen’ special premiered in December, fans have been eagerly awaiting the next special in the show’s fourth season. We know the next special sees Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond travel to Madagascar but not much else is known.

Taking to Twitter to respond to a fan suggested it isn’t worth having an Amazon Prime subscription without new episodes of The Grand Tour, Clarkson wrote “We have one pretty much ready to go and when this virus business is settled, we will head off to do two more.”

Another fan then chimed in questioning why there aren’t any plans for more specials beyond the three forthcoming ones. Clarkson responded with this; “Maybe you haven’t heard. There’s a virus you see and it’s making international travel tricky.”

Details about the two additional specials mentioned by Clarkson remain unclear but given the unpredictable state of the coronavirus, it’s very hard to predict when the film crew will be able to film them, let alone edit and release them.

While this is sad news for car fans, there are still plenty of The Grand Tour’s older episodes available on Amazon Prime to pass the time. Top Gear’s recently-concluded 28th season is also well worth a watch as the on-screen chemistry between Chris Harris, Paddy McGuinness, and Freddy Flintoff has made it very enjoyable.
