Volkswagen has dropped another teaser video of the Nivus, their upcoming small crossover coupe, that puts the spotlight on the interior.

Taking center stage in the dashboard, in a cutout similar to the T-Cross, is the new infotainment system. The widescreen display has touch-sensitive buttons on each side that give users access to certain functions, including the phone, music streaming and settings, and allow them to engage or disengage the stop/start, parking sensors and automatic parking feature.

The high-res unit has LTE connectivity and Wi-Fi hotspot, and to the left, we can partially see the digital dials. In front of them, Volkswagen’s new logo has been applied to the multi-function steering wheel, with aluminum trim and flat-bottom styling, whose design echoes the T-Cross. Soft-touch materials seem to be part of the build, alongside glossy black accents, and given the youthful character of the car, it’s likely that customers will be able to choose from different upholstery, stitching and trim colors.

The rest of the teaser video highlights the exterior of the Nivus, which features strong lines on the hood, triangular fog lamps, large lower air intake, LED DRLs integrated in the headlights, LED taillights and sloping roofline that ends with the tailgate-mounted spoiler.

Set to launch in Brazil later this year, prior to its arrival in Europe, the Nivus is based on the VW Group’s MQB platform. Technical details are scarce, although the South American model is expected to be launched with the 1.0-liter TSI petrol engine, paired to a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission, making 114 HP and 126 HP, respectively.
