Thought Dodge ran out of new variants for the Charger after last year’s release of the Widebody packages for the SRT Hellcat and Scat Pack?
Well, think again because two interesting Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody prototypes have been spotted on public roads in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Both featured heavily camouflaged and taller hoods, hinting at some changes taking place underneath.
Since the only possible upgrade left for the Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody is the Redeye treatment, we suspect that’s what the muscle sedan is getting.

This means it will receive the same powertrain as the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye, namely a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 making 797 horsepower and 707 lb-ft (957 Nm) of torque. Responsible for the power increase over the regular Hellcat is a 2.7-liter supercharger – hence the modifications to the hood necessary to make room for it.
The Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye features a twin-snorkel hood that feeds more air into the intake, but we can’t tell whether or not the Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye will get it too.
Elsewhere, we don’t see other changes present on these prototypes, though they should pack all the other performance upgrades associated with the Redeye package. Those include a larger air intake, increased boost pressure (14.5 psi over 11.6 psi), a 6500-rpm redline, and two dual-stage fuel pumps.
Expect the Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody to be even quicker than the current Hellcat model, which does 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 3.6 seconds, the quarter-mile in 10.96 seconds and hits a top speed of 196 mph (315 km/h). What’s not to like?
