Order books for the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E will reportedly open on May 11th in the United States.
A member of the Mach-E Forum forum recently came into the possession of information sent out to Ford dealerships. In this order guide, it is confirmed customers will receive an email from Ford with a link to order their vehicles in mid-May. While the forum asserts that May 11 is the specific date, we can’t see this date mentioned in the order guide.
Nevertheless, it’s apparent that Ford will open its doors to Mustang Mach-E orders very soon, even though its factories are closed to limit the spread of the coronavirus.

Ford has been accepting reservations for the Mustang Mach-E for many months since its global premiere at the LA Auto Show last year. Those with reservations have secured their place in the line to actually order the EV. Customers who have secured a reservation will be allowed to alter the spec of their vehicle during the ordering process and, once their order is locked in, the $500 reservation fee will be refunded.
Ford hasn’t officially said how many reservations for the Mach-E it has racked up but, as of late January, it was understood more than 32,000 reservations had been placed. It remains to be seen how many of these will actually translate into orders.
Earlier this month, Ford said almost 75 per cent of those to have reserved a Mach-E have opted for one of the all-wheel drive models. Prices for the SUV start from $43,895 before the available $7,500 federal tax incentive.
