A jaw-dropping 1996 Porsche 911 GT2 is currently up for sale through RM Sotheby’s online auction site. Pre-auction estimates suggest it could sell for between $950,000 and $1.1 million when the sale ends on March 28.

The 993-generation 911 GT2 was the first and is perhaps most iconic iteration of the hardcore ‘GT2’ model and took the 993 Turbo to new heights. Just 194 road-going examples were ever built.

Power is provided by a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter six-cylinder engine delivering 430 hp and 457 lb-ft (619 Nm) of torque. Mated to this engine is a six-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels through a limited-slip differential, allowing the car to reach 60 mph (96 km/h) in less than 4.0 seconds and a top speed of nearly 190 mph (305 km/h) in its heyday.

Numerous other upgrades were made to the 911 GT2. For example, it features carbon ceramic brakes, special 18-inch alloy wheels with magnesium centers, fiberglass wheel arch extensions, and a large fixed rear wing.

The example in question is finished in Polar Silver and has a handful of factory options such as air-conditioning, electric windows, front airbags, and a tinted top windshield. It was imported to the United States just a few years ago from Japan and features a stunning two-tone grey and black interior.

A clear bra has been fitted to the front fenders, hood, front bumper, and mirrors to protect the paint. It has a total of 18,712 miles (30,113 km) on the clock and is exempt from EPA regulations as it was imported under the Show or Display rule.
