It appears that buyers will just have to wait for their Ferrari a tad bit longer as the Italian carmaker has pushed back restarting production in Maranello and Modena from March 27 to April 14, barring any supply chain issues.

The brand says that activities that can be conducted safely will continue to be performed as in recent weeks. They will also continue to cover all days of absence for those unable to work during this period.

“Given the huge uncertainty and lack of predictability that Covid-19 has created, the Company is taking all appropriate actions to assure the wellbeing and welfare of its employees and that are deemed to be in the best interest of all stakeholders.”

“The Company anticipates that it will be in a position to provide further financial guidance to the investment community during its first quarter earnings’ call on May 4, 2020. It remains confident that in view of its brand equity, strong balance sheet and sound business model it will continue to create value for all stakeholders beyond the near term uncertainties.”

Ferrari suspended production at its two facilities in Italy on March 16, as the country was being pummeled by COVID-19 cases, going into lockdown. When the decision was made, there were just over 17,000 confirmed cases in Italy, whereas today that number is 80,589, with 8,215 deaths and 10,361 patients that have recovered.

According to Worldometers, there are 62,013 active cases as of right now, out of which 58,401 (94%) are experiencing mild symptoms, while 3,612 (6%) are deemed as serious or critical.
