Scary dashcam footage has surfaced online showing the moment a Kia Carnival minivan slammed head-on into a black GMC Yukon in the Oregon city of Scappoose.
The footage shows the silver Kia crossing into oncoming traffic, forcing a sedan and a Jeep to swerve out of the way to avoid making contact. The cammer is also forced to pull to the right to avoid being collected by the minivan. Moments later, a rear-facing camera captures the moment the Carnival slams into what looks to be a GMC Yukon, sending it into a violent spin and down into a grassy ditch on the side of the road.
Columbia County Spotlight reports that the head-on collision occurred along Highway 30 on March 4.

The driver of the Kia, 23-year-old Lisa Sam, was charged with a DUII (driving under the influence of intoxicants) and five other charges. She, as well as her two passengers, were transported to a nearby hospital although the state of their injuries remains unclear. Sam and her passenger Nicholas Aguilar may be hit with charges for possession of meth.
The innocent driver of the GMC, Colleen DeShazer, was transported by helicopter to a hospital and suffered a broken pelvis, broken sternum, bruised heart, and fractured spine vertebrae.
Driver Alec Herold was the motorist who captured the crash on his dashcam and speaking with KATU 2, said he only just avoided being collected by the Kia.
“I didn’t see the crash because it was behind me but I heard this thunderous explosion,” Herold said. “I knew somebody behind me got hit.”
