If you’re in the market for a one of a kind roadster, look no further as the Bizzarrini BZ-2001 concept is up for sale.
Listed on Autoscout24, the BZ-2001 is based on the Ferrari Testarossa and features a unique design that was penned by Giotto Bizzarrini.
If the name doesn’t ring a bell, Bizzarrini has had a truly impressive career that includes stints at Alfa Romeo and Ferrari. He also founded Automobili Turismo e Sport (ATS) and Bizzarrini SpA which built the sleek Strada between 1964-1968.

Decades after Bizzarrini SpA went defunct, Bizzarrini was approached by Barry Watkins and Luis Romo about a new supercar. As Road & Track wrote a few years ago, the model was based on the Testarossa and featured an aerodynamic carbon fiber body, a lightweight carbon clutch and a high-performance Alcon braking system.
The car was originally slated to go into production and ride on a custom spaceframe platform. It was also tipped to use a newly developed 7.0-liter V8 engine.
Like many other supercar startups, the project eventually stalled due to a lack of funding. As a result, the Testarossa-based prototype is all that remains of the BZ-2001 project.
While it’s sad that the car never got to see production, the concept features a 4.9-liter Ferrari flat twelve-cylinder engine that likely produces 385 hp (287 kW / 390 PS) and 361 lb-ft (490 Nm) of torque. Regardless of its output, the engine is connected to a five-speed manual transmission which sends power to the rear wheels.
The car is being sold LM Classic Cars and they’re asking €750,000 ($814,237 / £656,939) for it. That’s a lot more than your typical Ferrari Testarossa, but the BZ-2001 is far more unique and arguably better looking.
