Dramatic dashcam footage from a police car in Cincinnati shows authorities pursuing two men in a 2001 Mercury Grand Marquis who are suspects in a homicide investigation.

WCPO reports that the chase occurred on March 28 when Miamisburg police saw the Mercury at approximately 10:30 a.m. in the morning. Authorities soon gave chase before Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers took over the chase as the pair crossed into Warren County on I-75 southbound.

A 28-minute video of the chase shows the Mercury speeding down the highway and swerving between traffic. Law enforcement tried multiple times to use spike strips to stop the car and even after both the passenger side tires were blown out, the homicide suspects continued to flee. At one stage, the driver brake checked the pursuing highway patrol officer, forcing him to quickly swerve out of the way.

Local media reports that a man by the name of William Denny III was behind the wheel while Dustin Hatfield, Sr. was in the passenger seat. During the chase, Hatfield reportedly threw a Samsung phone out of the passenger side window towards one of the pursuing troopers.

You can only drive with two blown tires for so long and Denny III eventually crashed the car while making a left-hand turn on a freeway overpass. The Mercury can be seen understeering hard into a wall and slides to a halt. Both the driver and passenger quickly realized their luck was up and surrendered.

The suspect behind the wheel was arrested and charged with failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer while Hatfield was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence.
