Porsche fans better listen up as the company has announced plans to auction the final previous-generation 911 (991).
Set to be sold by RM Sotheby’s in an exclusive online auction, the final car is a 911 Speedster with a GT Silver Metallic exterior and the Heritage Design package.
The model is unregistered and only has 20 miles (32 km) on it. The car is powered by a naturally-aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine that develops 502 hp (374 kW / 509 PS) and 346 lb-ft (469 Nm) of torque. It is connected to a six-speed manual transmission which enables the Speedster to run from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 3.8 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 192 mph (309 km/h).

Besides winning the car, the highest bidder will receive a 911 Speedster Heritage Design Chronograph. Created by Porsche Design and made in Switzerland, the watch features a number of cues from the car including the same exact cognac leather. It will also wear the chassis number of the final 991.
If that wasn’t enough, the winning bidder and a guest will be invited to take an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of Porsche’s development headquarters and hit the track with the heads of the 911 and GT model lines.
They’ll also receive a one-of-a-kind book detailing the assembly and completion of the final car as well as an original sketch by the Speedster design team. The car will also be handed over by Klaus Zellmer who is the President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America.
The auction will begin on April 15th and end on April 22nd at 1:00 pm EDT. The car will be offered without reserve and proceeds will benefit the United Way Worldwide’s COVID-19 Community Response and Recovery Fund.
Speaking of the latter, Zellmer said “We are all profoundly affected by the current situation and the immediate impact it’s having on those most at risk in our communities.” Zellmer went on to say he’s “hopeful that the sale of a very special Porsche will help in a small way.”
