You can get a used Bugatti Veyron for less than $700,000 (£559,411 / €641,410), but that still puts the model out of reach for a vast majority of consumers.

However, there’s an affordable option in Japan that we’ve dubbed the BugAudi.

Based on a 2002 Audi TT, the replica tries its hardest as it features a horseshoe-shaped grille, headlight masks and a two-tone paint job that mimics those used on the Veyron. The model has also been equipped with “EB” branded wheels and a center-mounted dual exhaust system that apparently tries to recall the one used on the Super Sport.

Despite incorporating a number of Bugatti styling cues, the model features a massive rear wing and a central fin with Bridgestone and Agip stickers. These aren’t Bugatti-like but, if you’re building a ridiculous Audi TT, why not.

Unsurprisingly, the cabin largely carries over untouched. However, there is a less than convincing Bugatti badge on the passenger side and a steering wheel without a cover.

The listing is light on details, but power is provided by a turbocharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine. It was available with outputs ranging from 148 hp (110 kW / 150 PS) to 222 hp (165 kW / 225 PS) in 2002, but there’s no word on how much this particular engine makes. It’s also unclear if this model is front- or all-wheel drive.

While a lot of questions remain, the car is listed on Carsensor for a post tax price of $23,014 (£18,387 / €21,095). Call us crazy, but we’d stick to a standard TT instead.
