Production of the Lotus Evija is scheduled to commence later this year and the automaker has released an animation video that highlights the personalization process.

With only 130 units to be made and the first year’s allocation already spoken for, the electric hypercar will give buyers a unique customization experience. In addition to selecting the exterior and interior colors, they will be able to place their Evija into multiple environments from all over the world to see how the sunlight levels affect their choices.

Upon finishing the configuration, a ‘360-degree fly-through’ video will be created, exclusive to each customer. In the screenshots taken from the configurator, the Evija is portrayed in Atomic Red with Carbon Black accents, while a Solaris Yellow model with Carbon Black accents is visible in the animation film.

During the purchasing process, Lotus will also give Evija customers unique gifts that “reflect the exclusive and technical nature of the Evija”. Everything will culminate with the delivery of the vehicle, which will be accompanied by a handcrafted book filled with imagery of the respective car during key moments of assembly.

“We know every customer journey will be unique and our highly experienced customer relations team is ready to support any requests”, said Lotus’ Global Marketing Executive Director, Simon Clare. “With state-of-the-art digital tools such as the new configurator, we can accommodate customer preferences and requirements from anywhere in the world at the touch of a button.”

With 2,000 PS (1,972 HP / 1,471 kW) and 1,700 Nm (1,254 lb-ft) of torque from four electric motors, the Evija rockets to 100 km/h (62 mph) in under 3 seconds, and on to a top speed in excess of 320 km/h (200 mph). The model has a 400-kilometer (250-mile) range and a starting price of £1.7 million ($2.14 million) in the United Kingdom.
