These 2021 Nissan Rogue (X-Trail) Photos Look Pretty Official To Us

Not long after patent photos of the 2021 Nissan Rogue made a splash online, official pictures have apparently been posted on the Worldscoop forum.

Looking far more distinctive than its predecessor, the redesigned Rogue has sportier styling and a significantly improved interior.

Starting on the outside, we can see a larger V-Motion grille which is flanked by top-mounted LED daytime running lights. They reside above vertical air intakes and sweptback headlights.

Other notable styling features include plastic body cladding, a bright skid plate and metallic roof rails.  While the images don’t show the sides of the crossover, patent photos revealed the model will have edgier bodywork, an upward sweeping beltline and pronounced rear haunches.  There will also be a sleeker roof and a familiar D-pillar treatment.

The rear end is more evolutionary, but it adopts a sportier spoiler and new taillights.  There’s also extensive body cladding and a silver skid plate to match the one up front.

While the exterior changes are welcome, the interior sees the most attention as it no longer looks like something purpose-built for a rental car.  Drivers sit behind a new flat-bottomed steering wheel and find themselves looking at a reconfigurable digital instrument cluster.

To their right is a modern infotainment system which is significantly larger than the one used on its predecessor.  It’s mounted on top of the dashboard where it’s easier to see and use.

Below the infotainment system is slender air vents and higher quality switchgear.  There’s also a new center console with a minimalist shifter and a rotary terrain selector.  Other highlights include wood trim and metallic accents.  We can also see a panoramic glass roof and leather seats with diamond stitching.

Engine options remain unconfirmed, but the 2020 Rogue has a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that pumps out 170 hp (127 kW / 172 PS) and 175 lb-ft (237 Nm) of torque. However, the 2021 model could adopt the newer 2.5-liter four-cylinder that resides in the Altima and produces up to 188 hp (140 kW / 191 PS) and 180 lb-ft (244 Nm) of torque.

Regardless of what’s under the hood, Nissan has previously confirmed the 2021 Rogue will arrive at U.S. dealerships this fall.
