The Jaguar F-Pace is in for its first mid-cycle refresh, four years after production began, and with it, the range-topping F-Pace SVR will be updated as well.
Spied testing on the Nurburgring in prototype form, the hot premium SUV will feature redesigned bumpers, quad-tailpipe setup and big wheels, in addition to a re-tuned suspension and beefy brakes.
Review: Jaguar F-Pace SVR May Feel Big Around Corners, But Is An Absolute Delight To Drive
And if you don’t see it coming, then you most definitely will hear it, because it still packs a sonorous V8 engine under the hood. In all likelihood, we are looking at the same 5.0-liter supercharged eight-cylinder unit from the current F-Pace SVR, where it makes 542 HP (550 PS / 404 kW) and 502 lb-ft (680 Nm) of torque.
The engine is matched to an eight-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive, propelling the vehicle to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.3 seconds (0-60 mph in 4.1 sec) and a top speed of 176 mph (283 km/h). We don’t know yet if it will be introduced with revised performance figures and lower emissions.
Like its predecessor, the 2021 F-Pace SVR will launch Stateside as well, replacing the current model that has a starting MSRP of $80,600. A small price adjustment is to be expected.
The regular 2020 F-Pace can be ordered from $45,200 and is offered with 18-inch alloy wheels, sliding panoramic roof, 10-inch infotainment system, Meridian audio and a few other gizmos. It’s powered by the 247 HP 2.0-liter turbo-four, does the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 6.6 seconds and tops out at 135 mph (217 km/h). The F-Pace Checkered Flag Edition makes use of the same lump and adds a few extras, bumping the starting price to $58,400.
