The weird, wacky and wild creation you’re looking at comes from a company dubbed Hidden Motorsports and is likely one of the most insane E36-generation BMW 3-Series models on earth.

The engine of this thing is the first component that really sets it apart from its former self. It uses a 5.3-liter LS V8 block that was built in the owner’s garage. New internals were installed, including custom pistons and CNC ported heads from Lingenfelter. There is also a massive hi-ram Holley intake manifold painted in Candy Apple Red.

Left as is, we’re sure this engine would offer up a serious amount of grunt but that didn’t stop the owner from fitting a set of turbochargers for some added thrust. There’s also a bespoke intercooler. Such a monstrous engine needs to be mated up to an equally-strong transmission so that’s why this BMW sports a Tremec T56 6-speed manual driving the rear wheels. The car has yet to be put on the dyno but Hidden Motorsports expects it to make at least 1,000 hp.

It’s not just the engine of this E36 that is special. It is the bodywork, or lack thereof. Very little of the original 3-Series has actually been retained. In fact it looks as though the only original parts include the chassis, windscreen, rear-end, and engine bay. There’s not even a roof. In place of where the body panels would have once been is black tubing.

Fittingly, the interior is completely stripped out and includes four bucket seats, a three-spoke steering wheel, the standard dashboard and not much more.
