If there’s anyone who knows everything about the Bugatti Chiron, it’s the man who spends more time in the hypercar than any other person.

We’re talking about Andy Wallace, Bugatti’s official test driver – or, as the cooler French translation goes, ‘Bugatti Pilote Officiel’. Over the last few years, the Englishman covered a total of over 150,000 kilometers (93,205 miles) in vehicles built by the Molsheim-based brand, including the Chiron.

He’s been testing Bugatti cars and giving customers high-speed rides since 2011 and in this capacity he reached the extraordinary speed of 490.484 km/h (304.773 mph) in a modified Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ in the summer of 2019. Therefore, he set a new record, helping Bugatti become the first car manufacturer ever to break the 300 mph (483 km/h) barrier.

Before landing this dream job with Bugatti, Andy Wallace spent more than 30 years as a racing driver, competing both in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 24 Hours of Daytona on 21 occasions. He won the Le Mans endurance classic once and Daytona three times.

Given his background and the fact he drives Bugattis to the limit for a living, there is no one better to present the Bugatti Chiron. That’s exactly what he does in this new mini web series of five video clips you can watch in the playlist below. He explains the hypercar’s technical details in a manner that’s easy to understand and reveals “how to get everything out of the hyper sports car while staying safe.”

Yeah, right, like anyone else has the guts to do that with a 1,479 HP (1,500 PS) monster.
