Three Arkansas State Police cars and one Sheriff’s Office patrol car were damaged by an armed female driver during a high-speed pursuit in Sebastian County on May 5.
After wreaking havoc on the local police’s fleet, 27-year-old Jennifer K. Porter was arrested on suspicion of eight counts of aggravated assault, felon in possession of a firearm, and felony fleeing. That’s not all, as the Forth Smith woman will also face charges for the theft of a vehicle, with other charges possibly pending.
According to a press release from Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office cited by Arkansas Online, it all started when a red Ram 1500 pickup and a pistol inside were reported stolen from the 17000 block of Arkansas 45 near Hackett at around 10:30 a.m. last Tuesday.

Less than an hour later, a sheriff’s deputy spotted the red pickup on U.S. 71 South near Greenwood and went in pursuit. He clocked the Ram truck on radar at about 100 mph (161 km/h) and the fleeing driver soon started trying to cause the patrol car to wreck.
The pursuit carried on over multiple county roads and state highways, with Porter reportedly brandishing the firearm at the deputy on Dayton Road. She then stopped and rammed the patrol car in reverse, disabling it.
More police cars started to follow her and she reportedly tried to ram multiple law enforcement vehicles by suddenly applying the brakes during the chase. In the end, Arkansas State Police managed to catch up to the stolen Ram truck on U.S. 71 South and end the pursuit after a PIT maneuver forced the pickup to stop. Fortunately, no one was reported injured.
