‘I drive a Jensen Interceptor’ – that phrase alone should be enough to make you want one, yet with only 2,477 units of the series III made between 1971 and 1973, finding that perfect example could be a challenge.
This one was made in 1972 and registered on January 14, the following year, according to SilverstoneAuctions, which has it listed for its online auction that starts on May 23, at 2:00 p.m. BST (9:00 a.m. EST) – and yes, the car is located in the UK.

The magic number – aka the estimated selling price – is between £40,000 and £50,000 ($48,835-$61,145), and in return for paying new Porsche 718 Cayman/Boxster money, you’ll get a restored classic car with unique looks, lots of documentation and one helluva story for whoever asks what you’re driving

Believed to be one of just 239 units registered for road use in the United Kingdom, this Interceptor has a little over 58,000 miles (93,342 km) on the clock. It was resprayed in a shade called Cerise, rocks a more modern suspension setup, stainless steel sports exhaust system and Holley carburetor, strapped to the burbling 7.2-liter V8 engine. Back in the day, the power unit kicked out 330 HP and 425 lb-ft (576 Nm) of torque.
The tan leather interior, with black dashboard, steering wheel and a few buttons and knobs, looks very good for a car that’s almost 50 years old, and unless you’re a perfectionist, you won’t find many things wrong with it.
So, how about looking at those savings and practicing on saying its name in the mirror while you’re at it?
