Callaway is the latest company to jump on the bandwagon of Chevrolet C8 Corvette tuning and has previewed a few upgrades it is working on for the car.
The most obvious upgrade being developed is a new exhaust. Callaway says this is the 5th generation of its signature ‘Double-D’ exhaust system that features a new iteration of the Single-Acoustic Chamber originally developed for the Callaway C12 and later C7 Corvette models.
Callaway says the multiple baffled chambers in the exhaust’s single canister have been tuned to “offer improved flow characteristics and frequency cancellation to eliminate in-cabin resonances, while offering a refined exhaust note.” The company is also developing a carbon fiber surrounding panel to aid in airflow around the muffler.

In addition to adding an intriguing look to the C8’s rear-end, Callaway’s exhaust will inevitably result in some small power gains.
Callaway has also announced it is working with O.Z. Racing on a set of nine-spoke forged wheels for the Corvette. Although specifics of these wheels haven’t been announced, Callaway says they will be lighter than the standard wheels despite being larger. The wheels will be joined by Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires and offered in a ceramic polished finish with a clear protective coating.
The tuner says it is also developing additional aerodynamic and styling features for the ‘Vette, which will be announced in the coming months. It is also developing various powertrain upgrades and a line of improvements aimed at boosting the car’s on-track performance.
