Genesis has announced the 2021 G80 will be priced from $47,700 when it goes on sale in the United States this summer.
Costing $5,150 more than its predecessor, the 2021 G80 has a bold new design that is sportier and far more upscale than before. In terms of the entry-level G80 2.5T, the model has LED lighting units, a dual exhaust system and 18-inch alloy wheels. There are also rain sensing wipers, power folding mirrors and a hands-free smart trunk.
Inside, the car has 12-way power heated front seats with leatherette upholstery. Drivers will also find a 14.5-inch infotainment system with GPS navigation and an 8-inch LCD display in the instrument cluster.

Other highlights include a power tilt / telescoping steering wheel, a dual-zone climate control system and a 12-speaker audio system. The model also has piano black trim, ambient lighting and a proximity key with a push button ignition.
In terms of safety, the entry-level G80 has forward collision avoidance-assist with pedestrian and cyclist detection, smart cruise control with machine learning, highway driving assist, lane keeping assist, and lane following assist. The model also has blind-spot collision avoidance-assist and rear cross-traffic collision avoidance-assist. Other safety features include ten air bags, front / rear parking sensors and safe exit assist.
Motivation is provided by a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 300 hp (224 kW / 304 PS) and 311 lb-ft (421 Nm) of torque. It is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission which sends power to the rear wheels. All-wheel drive is available for $3,150 and customers who choose that option will also get a heated steering wheel and heated rear seats.
Moving up the trim ladder, the G80 2.5T Advanced starts at $52,300. The model features additional standard equipment including a power trunk, a panoramic glass roof and 19-inch alloy wheels.
Bigger changes occur in the cabin as drivers will find ventilated front seats, matte wood trim and a 21-speaker Lexicon audio system. Other additions include a tri-zone climate control system, a power rear sunshade and manual side shades.
The $56,600 G80 2.5T Prestige goes even further as it adds power closing doors, leather seats and an ergo motion driver’s seat. The model also has a wireless smartphone charger and digital key technology.
Lastly, there are additional safety systems such as a surround view monitor, a blind–spot view monitor, remote smart parking assist and rear parking collision-avoidance assist. The step up to all-wheel drive is also a more modest $2,550.
Buyers looking for more power can upgrade to the G80 3.5T which begins at $59,100. That brings it in line with BMW‘s 540i powered by a 335 HP 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six. It features a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 375 hp (280 kW / 380 PS) and 391 lb-ft (530 Nm) of torque.
The entry-level 3.5T builds on the 2.5T’s standard equipment by adding 19-inch wheels, a panoramic glass roof and a power trunk. The model also has a digital key, power closing doors and an electronically controlled suspension with road preview technology.
The cabin is more luxurious as the model has heated / ventilated leather front seats, matte wood trim and a 21-speaker Lexicon audio system. Other highlights include a wireless smartphone charger, a tri-zone climate control system and rear sunshades.
All-wheel drive is once again a $3,150 option, but it also includes a heated steering wheel and heated rear seats.
Lastly, the range-topping G80 3.5T Prestige starts at $65,100. It has 20-inch alloy wheels, Nappa leather seats and a microfiber suede headliner. Other niceties include an ergo motion driver’s seat, heated rear seats and a heated steering wheel. There’s also a 12.3-inch 3D digital instrument cluster and a head-up display.
Additional safety features include a blind–spot view monitor, remote smart parking assist and rear parking collision-avoidance assist. There’s also a surround view monitor and a forward attention warning system.
All G80 customers will also receive three years / 36,000 miles of complimentary scheduled maintenance as well as three years of map updates and lifetime traffic data.
