If you’ve ever thought about renting out your car, this video might make you reconsider.
In the clip, Adventure Drives founder Rob Ferretti explained they have a new Corvette C8 and they were renting out an C7 Z06 Convertible until they get a C8 Convertible.
That sounds reasonable enough, but things didn’t exactly go as planned. As he explains, a young guy rented the car and he instantly had a bad feeling about it.
However, he didn’t back out of the deal and instead cautioned the renter the Z06 is a fast car, so be careful with it. The renter’s response, “Don’t worry, I don’t drive like that.”

That brought back some bad memories as the last person who told him that eventually crashed a Ford GT that Rob was planning to buy. Unfortunately, history has a way of repeating itself.
While the clip is sadly devoid of details, Rob says the renter went “sideways into a divider” and possibly hit another vehicle. Regardless of what happened, the Corvette suffered significant front end damage. The front bumper was completely destroyed and the crash also damaged the front fenders and made a mess of the engine compartment.
The front end took the brunt of the damage, but the wheels were also scratched and there’s some minor damage on the rear bumper and rear passenger side fender. The interior is relatively fine, other than some damage caused by the airbag deployment.
There’s no word on how much the repairs will cost, but Rob estimated a price of between $20,000 and $25,000. Of course, he won’t know the real number until a technician can take a closer look.
