Buick has revealed the all-new 2021 Envision premium SUV, which is set to arrive at dealers early next year.
Following a leak of the Chinese market version called the Envision GX back in March, Buick has released the first bit of information on the new 2021 Envision. The design of Buick’s latest SUV is quite athletic, with clean lines and a strong shoulder line.
The front end is dominated by a wide grille and slim headlights while the rear follows suit with the almost seamlessly integrated taillights complimenting the model’s toned hips.

“The 2021 Envision will be lower and wider, with premium proportions and striking styling designed to combine the expressiveness of a car with the practicality of an SUV,” said Helen Emsley, executive director, Global Buick and GMC Design.
Buick hasn’t shared that much at this point on the all-new Envision but has confirmed that it will be offered with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission. This sounds like the same powertrain offered in the Cadillac XT4, where it makes 237 HP (177 kW / 240 PS) and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) of torque. Previous reports also said that an all-wheel-drive system will be an option.
The new Buick Envision will become the company’s first model to offer a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system that will come with built-in Amazon Alexa, Spotify, Pandora, and of course Apple Car Play and Android Auto.
Buick will offer the 2021 Envision with plenty of active safety kit as standard, including Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Forward Collision Alert, Rear Park Assist, and HD Rear Vision Camera among others.
The company’s new premium SUV will be also offered in the luxurious Avenir trim line, which will probably feature a model-specific front grille design, different wheels, extended leather upholstery, and more.
“The all-new 2021 Envision is part of Buick’s strategy to grow its family of premium SUVs,” said Duncan Aldred, VP of Global Buick and GMC. “It joins the new 2020 Encore GX, which offers safety, functionality and styling tailored around the size and space preferences of today’s small and compact SUV buyers.”
As to where it’s produced, the current model is made in China, but Buick did not mention anything in the press release for the new car. We reached out to Buick but have yet to hear back from them.
Buick said it will reveal more details on the new 2021 Envision later this year.
