A new supercar startup by the name of Naran Automotive has just teased its very first model and has made big claims about it. The vehicle will simply be referred to as the ‘Naran,’ and aims to chase the very upper echelon of modern-day hypercars, including the Aston Martin Valkyrie.

One of the most intriguing aspects of the Naran is that its engine won’t be fitted behind the cabin. Instead, it will actually be front-mid-engined, meaning the powerplant is located behind the front axle but ahead of the cabin. This engine will be a twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8 with a claimed output of 1,034 hp and 764 hp (1,036 Nm) of torque.

We don’t yet know what kind of transmission the hypercar will use but know it will send power to all four wheels and will reportedly hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in 2.1 seconds, 100 mph (160 km/h) in 4.5 seconds, and a top speed of between 230-250 mph (370-402 km/h), Auto Express reports.

The Naran’s body will be made largely from carbon fiber and in these teasers released of the hypercar, we can see it will have a very aggressive design focused on producing huge levels of downforce. In fact, the startup says it will produce around 450 kg (992 lbs) of downforce. Key aerodynamic components visible in these teasers include large venturi tunnels in the front fascia, a fixed rear wing, and a protruding, motorsport-inspired rear diffuser. Another standout design element are the lobster-claw-shaped headlights, very similar to those of the Ferrari SF90 Stradale.

The car is currently undergoing handling and top speed tests at the Nurburgring and Imola. Naran Automotive hopes to start sales in mid-August and plans on building just 49 examples.
