The facelifted Volkswagen Arteon will officially premiere on June 24, with redesigned front and rear ends, an updated cockpit and a new estate body style, named the Shooting Brake, which will be kept away from North America.
Until the mid-size car gets its time under the limelight, here’s a rendered look at the sedan with cues taken from the teasers and recent spy pictures of prototype models.
Signed by Kolesa, the illustrations show the front end of the Arteon with bigger side air intakes compared to the outgoing iteration. The lower grille is more prominent and there is a thin light strip joining the headlamps together, which otherwise look unchanged.

The back end sports new taillights with updated graphics and a thin diffuser that incorporates fake exhaust outlets. Besides the bumper, which we expect to look different on the facelifted model, we do know that the ‘Arteon’ lettering on the tailgate will have a new font.
While the 2021 Arteon and Arteon Shooting Brake are two weeks away from being shown to the world, those interested in the Arteon R will reportedly have to wait a few more months for the presentation. The sporty model will boast a specific body kit and will feature quad exhaust pipes, upgraded brakes with drilled discs and likely a firmer suspension set-up.
Some think that the 3.0-liter VR6 will power it, making 394 HP (400 PS / 294 kW), while others are adamant that VW went for the 328 HP (333 PS / 245 kW) 2.0-liter turbo-four from the new Golf R, matched to a DSG transmission and 4Motion all-wheel drive system.
