One might easily confuse the numerous special editions of the Huracan launched by Lamborghini ever since production started back in 2014, but the truth is that with each one, they have further refined their entry-level supercar almost to perfection.

The mid-cycle facelift has brought one of the most exciting versions to the market: the Huracan EVO RWD. It is a rear-wheel drive model that traces its roots back to the Gallardo LP550-2 and still features a 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10.

Compared to the all-wheel drive Huracan EVO’s 631 HP (640 PS / 471 kW) and 443 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque, this one has to make do with “only” 602 HP (610 PS / 449 kW) and 413 lb-ft (560 Nm) of torque. It comes with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, although it lacks the four-wheel steering and other features found in its AWD sibling. On the bright side, less gizmos mean less weight, so the Huracan EVO RWD is 73 lbs (33 kg) lighter, as it tips the scales at 3,062 lbs (1,389 kg) dry.

The 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint is done in 3.3 seconds and the 0 to 124 mph (0-200 km/h) one in 9.3 seconds. That’s 0.4 and 0.3 seconds slower than the AWD variant, yet at 202 mph (325 km/h), top speed is identical in both cars.

Now, we already mentioned that this is probably the best Huracan yet, but it’s not our remark, but Autocar’s after reviewing the rear-wheel drive supercar, which starts at $208,571 in the U.S. and £137,000 ($169,135) in the UK.
