Britain’s largest carmaker, Jaguar Land Rover, is launching an all-inclusive premium subscription service for its models.
Dubbed Pivotal, the service will allow customers to experience a wide range of Jaguar and Land Rover cars, from the all-electric I-PACE to the Evoque or the Discovery Sport. Pivotal is backed by InMotion, JLR’s venture capital and mobility services arm.
The Discovery is also included in the service, as are all four members of the Range Rover family. The new Defender however will be introduced at a later stage, together with two new plug-in hybrid models (the Disco Sport PHEV and Evoque PHEV).

This new service is meant to be an alternative to traditional vehicle ownership and leasing plans, featuring a single monthly payment that covers the rental cost, insurance, tax, servicing and repairs. This means that the only separate payments you’ll be making will be related to fuel costs.
According to Jaguar Land Rover, no-commitment subscription services are predicted to account for nearly 10% of all new sales in the U.S. and Europe by the year 2025.
“The world is changing and Jaguar Land Rover is changing with it, adapting to the needs of our customers as well as supplying those who would not normally consider our cars and SUVs,” said Pivotal exec Isobel Dando.
“Traditional car ownership may not provide the flexibility required by some in the modern world, and with Pivotal we are able to offer an alternative, premium option. Our customers love driving and a subscription gives members a chance to experience living with different vehicles – whether their priority is lower-emissions, advanced safety technologies, versatility or design, Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles have plenty to offer.”
Through Pivotal, JLR will secure a place in the mobility service market, an industry which is forecasted to exceed $52 billion by the year 2027.
