Lamborghini has released a cryptic invitation which invites us to check out their “newest creation” on July 8th at 6 PM CEST (12 pm ET).
The invitation is coy on specifics, but says the mysterious model will be “ahead of its time.” We can also see capacitor-like accents which are shaped like Lamborghini’s new LED daytime running light design.
We’re not sure what to expect, but the “ahead of its time” teaser could suggest the model has hybrid or electric powertrain. While that’s far from certain, rumors have indicated Lamborghini is working on a Sian Spyder.

The coupe was unveiled at last year’s Frankfurt Motor Show and billed as a “hybrid super sports car” that blends exceptional performance with electrification.
It featured a 774 hp (577 kW / 785 PS) 6.5-liter V12 engine and a 34 hp (25 kW / 34 PS) electric motor that was integrated into the car’s seven-speed gearbox. The motor was powered by a supercapacitor which was “three times more powerful than a battery of the same weight and three times lighter than a battery producing the same power.”
This setup enabled the Sian to have a combined output of 808 hp (602 kW / 819 PS). That allowed the car to rocket from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in less than 2.8 seconds and hit a top speed in excess of 217 mph (350 km/h).
Of course, there’s no guarantee the mystery model is the Sian Spyder and Lamborghini has been teasing its upcoming SCV12. That particular model is a track-only hypercar with a V12 engine that produces more than 819 hp (610 kW / 830 PS). The engine will be connected to a six-speed sequential transmission which sends power to the rear wheels.
Lamborghini has already confirmed the SCV12 will be unveiled this summer, so it’s possible the model could debut next week.
