Lynk & Co is in the process of updating its 01 crossover and a prototype was just spotted in the wild by our spy photographers.
As you can see, the Chinese carmaker went about covering the front and rear fascias on this particular 01, which in turn tells us to expect some form of updated styling – headlight/taillight graphics, bumpers, that sort of thing. The changes don’t appear to be at all extensive, which in a way was to be expected.
The 01 was designed and engineered in Sweden by the Geely-owned brand, with an emphasis on global buyers. Its arrival in Europe is set for later this year, and will surely coincide with this mid-cycle update.

Originally, the 01 went on sale in China back in 2017 and was received quite well. In fact, Lynk & Co organized a three-day pre-sales event in November of that year, with the initial allocation selling out in just 2 minutes and 17 seconds – a total of 6,000 units.
Its underpinnings are the same as those of the Volvo XC40, but while the Chinese model is available with both hybrid as well as simple gasoline powertrains, only its electrified variants will be coming to Europe. This means both the hybrid and the plug-in hybrid, with the latter being capable of offering an 80 km (50 mile) electric-only range.
We assume minor changes will be made to the interior as well, where some fresh new trim is likely, as is updated software. Whether the size of the infotainment display will grow remains to be seen, but at this point it’s rather unlikely seen as how Lynk & Co would have to change the entire center console in order to fit a larger screen.
All in all, the only styling change we can spot on this prototype with any sort of certainty is that beefier front bumper, which should help the 2021 Lynk & Co 01 look a little more dynamic.
