Buyers can finally order the Cupra Formentor with only a £500 ($627) deposit, securing them the VZ Edition version of the crossover, as well as delivery of one of the first Formentors to arrive in Britain.
So if you want to be among the first to receive a Formentor, register for an early production slot by clicking here, and sending them the previously-mentioned deposit. The VZ Edition model is available exclusively in 2.0-liter 310 PS (306 HP) AWD spec.
Cupra will deliver just 100 VZ Edition Formentors to the UK, featuring exclusive upgrades for those who will use the pre-booking service. As for where the VZ moniker comes from, that would be the word ‘Veloz’, which in Spanish means ‘Speed’ or “Fast’.

By the way, this pre-ordering tool exists because according to Cupra, there were almost 20,000 “expressions of interest” from potential customers for the brand’s new crossover since March of this year.
Production is set to commence shortly, with the first vehicles arriving in the UK in Q4 of 2020, which means that initial customers will have a Formentor in their driveway before the end of this year, barring any delays.
Another recent development for the SEAT-owned brand is that the Cupra Formentor has been named FC Barcelona’s official car – the Spanish club’s first ever official car that is. The Formentor will be used by Barcelona’s staff for official club business, while the players will be able to customize their own vehicle for personal use, should they choose to drive something other than their own supercars.
Starting next year, the Formentor will also be available with a plug-in hybrid powertrain, combining a 148 HP (150 PS) 1.4-liter TSI gasoline unit with a 113 HP (115 PS) electric motor and a 13 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, for a total of 242 HP (245 PS) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque.
