A 1975 Porsche 911 Carrera turned into a track car is currently up for auction in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada and could prove perfect for anyone wanting to live out their dream of being an old-school racing driver.

The car is just the 29th example built out of 395 U.S.-spec cars for the 1975 model year and spent a good part of its life on the road like most other 911 Carreras of the day. However, while under previous ownership in the mid-1990s, the car underwent a series of comprehensive modifications that saw widened steel fenders fitted and the car resprayed in Laser Red Metallic.

Other key visual modifications made include 964-style bumpers and skirts, a GT2-style rear wing, black headlight surrounds, and silver 18-inch Fiske alloy wheels wrapped in Toyo Proxes R888 tires. There are some scuffs across the underbody and the base of the bumpers, but this is to be expected from what is a very serious track-day toy.

Powering the car is an upgraded 3.3-liter turbocharged flat-six from a 1989 Porsche 930. This engine is coupled to a five-speed manual transmission with a limited-slip differential driving the rear wheels. The powertrain includes upgrades such as 964 camshafts and lifters, Rarlyl8 Motorsports exhaust headers, a rebuilt turbocharger, custom intercooler, lightweight flywheel, Kevlar clutch, and upgraded brakes.

Inside, the car has been stripped out and includes Recaro Pole Position racing seats, Schroth 6-point harnesses, a bolt-in roll bar, WEVO shifter, and Momo steering wheel. There are also aluminum pedals and floorboards as well as carbon fiber RS-style door panels. Finally, the listing on PCarMarket reveals the car has 96,000 miles (154,000 km) on the clock.
