Not long after Haval unveiled its ‘Big Dog,’ an SUV seemingly inspired by the Ford Bronco, another Chinese automaker has teased a rugged SUV of its own and it is even more similar to the Bronco than what Haval has cooked up.
Dubbed the P01 and coming from WEY, teasers reveal the SUV will have very similar round headlights to the Bronco as well as horizontal LED daytime running lights. We can also see a prominent front grille with three horizontal slats and a rugged-looking bumper with small fog lights.

Elsewhere, we can see the WEY P01 has black plastic fender flares, square wing mirrors, and an overall upright and boxy shape. There are also a set of roof rails while at the rear you’ll find vertical taillights and a spare wheel. There is also a black bumper.
Limited technical specifications about the P01 are known at this early stage. However, it is understood it will sport double-wishbone independent front suspension and an integral bridge-type independent rear suspension layout. The example featured in these teasers appears to be fitted with all-terrain tires so it is quite clear that the off-road design will be more than skin deep and that the P01 may actually be capable off the beaten path.
No images previewing the interior of the P01 have hit the web nor have any details about its powertrain.
WEY is expected to unveil the vehicle in the coming weeks. It will likely only be sold in China.
