The Porsche 911 GT2 RS has evolved from being a widowmaker to an extremely capable machine that can do magic in the hands of a skilled driver.
In the video that you’re about to watch, it had the Johnny Bohmer Proving Grounds runway all to itself and demonstrated its standing-mile ability. Shot back in 2018 and uploaded just recently, it shows the German supercar’s ferocious rate of acceleration.

Before we watch the video, let’s lay down the specs. From nought to 62 mph (0-100 km/h), the 911 GT2 RS needs only 2.8 seconds, and should you find a straight long enough, it will keep pushing all the way up to 212 mph (340 km/h). The twin-turbocharged, 3.8-liter flat-six pumps out 690 horsepower (700 PS / 515 kW) and 553 pound-feet (750 Nm) of torque, dispatching it to the rear wheels via a PDK seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
When Porsche launched it almost three years ago, the 911 GT2 RS had a starting price worthy of its performance that put it out of reach for many enthusiasts. More specifically, it started at £207,506 ($260,700) in the United Kingdom, while in the United States, it was available from nearly $300,000, or a bit more than the 2020 Ferrari F8 Tributo.
