One can never be too careful when driving but there’s almost nothing one can do when crossing paths with an accident waiting to happen.
That’s exactly what happened in Rockingham, Western Australia to a woman driver who was perplexed to see an older Holden Astra running wide around a corner in front of her and then smashing into her car, even though there was plenty of space left and right to avoid the impact.
According to the video description on YouTube, the man driving the Holden was yelling at a car behind him and wasn’t paying enough attention to where his car was going. As a result, he took the corner wide and hit the oncoming car that was driven normally in the correct lane.

The victim’s car was equipped with a dashcam which captured the entire incident, revealing a rather disturbing detail. Riding alongside the reckless driver in the front passenger’s seat was a woman, with a little girl riding in the back in a child seat. After the impact, the child is heard crying as the woman comforts her.
The driver, who looked rather confused, is seen rushing to open the rear door where the girl was. Maybe if he had paid enough attention, the child wouldn’t have gone through the trauma of a car crash at such a young age. Thankfully, all the passengers from both cars were alright in the end.
Needless to say, this was a completely avoidable crash for which the Holden driver has no excuse. So the next time you’re tempted to cave in to road rage, think about this unfortunate driver who preferred to give the middle finger to the car behind him rather than pay attention to the road ahead.
