Two prototypes of the facelifted 2021 Hyundai i30 N have been spotted lapping the Nurburgring in anger.
Pictured below is the updated i30 N in both Fastback and Hatchback guises. While we have seen other prototypes in the past, Hyundai has kindly removed some of the camouflage on these two, providing us with a better view at the styling modifications.

Immediately making the new i30 N Hatchback and Fastback stand out from the outgoing models will be the new headlights and taillights already showcased across the rest of the i30 range. These new lights are particularly striking thanks to their V-shaped signatures and will add to the aggression of the duo.
Elsewhere, both the i30 N test cars snapped during testing are rocking black wheels, different than the black/silver wheels offered on the current i30 N, which look much more aggressive. Although it is unclear if these wheels will be featured on the production model, we have our fingers crossed they will be.
Powering the facelifted i30 N Hatchback and Fastback will remain a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. In some markets, this engine is currently offered in standard 246 HP form and 271 HP Performance guise while in other markets, such as Australia, it is only the 271 HP variant that is offered. On the back of news that the 2021 Veloster N is no longer offered in the base 246 HP guise, we wouldn’t be shocked if it is the same story with the facelifted i30 N.
Either way, the big news for 2021 will be the arrival of the same eight-speed wet dual-clutch transmission as the 2021 Veloster N. This transmission will be available alongside the current six-speed manual and should help to increase sales.
