With a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 rated at 641 hp and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm), the Lamborghini Urus is one of the fastest SUVs on the planet. However, that fact hasn’t stopped Hennessey Performance from making it even faster.
The blue Urus in this particular video is equipped with the HPE750 performance package. As the name implies, this kit increases power to a claimed 750 hp and is achieved with new downpipes and an engine tune.
When testing the hyper SUV on its dyno before making the modifications, Hennessey recorded 546 hp and 606 lb-ft (822 Nm) of torque at all four wheels. After the HPE750 package was fitted, those numbers jumped to 620 hp and 730 lb-ft (990 Nm). Account for a 21 per cent drivetrain loss and that is exactly 750 hp at the flywheel.

Of course, it is not just power that has been added to the Lamborghini, as the new downpipes also provide it with an even more intoxicating growl than standard.
While current owners of the Urus can turn to the aftermarket to make their SUVs even faster, Lamborghini itself is readying an even faster variant of its SUV. Reportedly dubbed the ST-X, it will be inspired by the ST-X Concept race car and rather than benefiting from a boost in power, will instead be significantly lighter than the standard model.
In fact, Lamborghini managed to shave off 550 kg (1,212 lbs) in the ST-X Concept, and while it is unlikely the road-going model will go on such a strict diet, the weight savings could have a serious impact on the way it performs.
