Tesla currently has four models in its range: the Model 3, Model Y, Model S, and Model X. We’ve become quite accustomed to seeing them pitted against their rivals, but in this video from Throttle House we get to see all four of them go toe-to-toe in a drag race.
For this race, the YouTube channel gathered together the flagship Performance versions of the Model 3, Model Y, Model S, and Model X. Both the Model S and Model X tested also have the recently-launched ‘Cheetah’ mode that makes them even quicker off the line.
In the first race, the Model S launches off the line with such force that it slams the reviewer back into his seat, leaving the Model 3, Model Y, and Model X in its wake. Of course, this is no surprise, as flagship variants of the Model S have always been the brand’s quickest vehicles.

What is interesting is how the Model 3 Performance and Model X Performance match up. Initially, the much cheaper and lighter Model 3 got the jump on the big SUV and actually kept its lead for quite some time. However, as the speeds started to increase, the Model X stormed past just before the finish line. Coming in last place in both drag races was the Model Y Performance.
When the second-generation Tesla Roadster finally launches, it will comfortably be the brand’s fastest model. Until that happens, however, the upcoming ‘Plaid’ version of the Model S with its three electric motors will soon sit at the top of Tesla’s range.
