A suspected drunk driver crashed a red Mitsubishi Lancer into a swimming pool in Arlington, Texas this week – which, by the way, serves as an excellent reminder to never drink and drive.
The Arlington Police Department reports the incident happened in the 3500 block of South Center Street in the city. Images provided from the scene provide us with a look at the damage that was caused.
It appears the Mitsubishi smashed through a low stone wall and wooden fence as it ventured off the road and into the backyard of the property. The red Lancer can be seen sitting in the pool submerged entirely in the water. Fortunately, no one was injured and things could have been much worse if anyone was in or near the pool at the time.

Police state that the driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI).
This is far from the first time we’ve come across an incident of a car being crashed into a swimming pool. For example, in July 2019, a Playboy model reportedly drove a Lamborghini Huracan Spyder into a pool during a photoshoot. In another incident back in May, a speeding Toyota RAV4 sped into the backyard of a home in Florida, flying across the swimming pool area and smashing down two fences.
It remains unclear what will happen to the driver of the Mitsubishi in this case, but if convicted, a serious fine and a license suspension should be on the cards.
