A bright pink McLaren 570S has been wrecked after crashing in central London last week.
It is understood the crash happened in Montagu Mansions, Marylebone after the British exotic hit a black VW Golf. While there are no images available that showcase the damage sustained to the Golf, we can clearly see the McLaren will need some serious repairs if it is ever to return to the streets. However, it seems more likely it will be sent straight to a scrapyard.
The car’s front bumper has been torn off and both the front quarter panels crushed. Additionally, the headlights have been smashed, as has the hood. It seems possible the front wheels were also damaged and the sand spread across the road suggests engine oil or other fluids, such as coolant, leaked out onto the road. Two of the Golfs hub caps are also pictured lying on the pavement.

While it is said to see a McLaren in such a sorry state of affairs, the chrome pink wrap isn’t what we’d call ‘stylish’ and probably deserves to be scrapped.
Writing on Twitter, London Fire Brigade borough commander for Camden, Simon Tuhill, wrote “We go to many incidents involving crashed vehicles but not that many where one of those vehicles is a McLaren 520 #supercar [sic]. Crews from #Euston attended this RTC on Montagu Mansions #Marylebone last week to make the scene safe after a driver lost control.”
