The first trailer for The Batman has been released and it provides us with a glimpse of the new Batmobile.
The Batman stars Robert Pattinson and will chronicle Batman during his early years. The new Batmobile featured is nothing like the famous Tumbler from The Dark Knight Trilogy, nor the Batmobile from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and instead more closely resembles a classic American muscle car.
The new Batmobile was previewed by director Matt Reeves back in March and was designed by Ash Thorps who’s previously worked on The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Total Recall, Person of Interest, Assassin’s Creed, and more. In this trailer for the film, flames can be seen shooting out of the vehicle’s rear-end and it certainly suits the dark depiction of Batman in the new film.

Images previously released of the car show that it is mid-engined with what looks to be either a V10 or V12 engine directly behind the cabin. While it remains to be seen if this engine is anything more than a prop, you can sleep easy knowing Batman’s ride will be more than capable enough to meet his needs. With flames spewing out from the rear, it also looks very sinister.
This trailer premiered at DC’s FanDome, a virtual convention for its superhero brand.
Robert Pattinson was cast for the leading role in The Batman in 2019. This came after years of talk about Ben Affleck reprising his role as Batman.
The Batman was scheduled for a release on June 25, 2021 but it has since been delayed until October 1, 2021.
