Electric Honda e Gains Genuine Accessories For Its Japanese Launch

Honda Access will release genuine accessories for the Honda e in Japan on October 30 to coincide with the launch of the small electric vehicle in the country.

As with every new model upgraded by Honda Access, the list of accessories consist of styling, practicality and convenience features. For the exterior, Honda’s accessories division offers 17-inch ‘MS-044’ aluminum wheels combining grey and gun powder black, as well as a front lower skirt that’s said to contribute to driving stability. Welcoming fog lights and custom license plate frames are also on offer.

These are the only upgrades available for the exterior, but the Honda e gains more accessories for the interior. The most obvious are the dark bronze panels on the dashboard and center console, matching bronze accents on the door cards, and scuff plates with ‘Honda e’ logo with LED blue illumination.

Also available are the branded carpet floor mats and luggage mat that can be used on both sides (carpet or synthetic resin) depending on the type of load. Additionally, Honda Access offers a port lid cover that prevents dirt from reaching inside the port during charging.

Honda e owners can also opt for the DRH-204WD drive recorder that can record what happens at the front of the vehicle. A rear recording camera and compatible VICS optical beacon unit can be added, enabling the system to record the front and rear of the vehicle at the same time. The drive recorder can be linked with a smartphone.

The Honda e goes on sale in Japan on October 30 with a base price of 4,510,000 yen ($42,600). According to the WLTC test cycle, the 35.5 kWh lithium-ion battery enables a maximum driving range of 283 km (175 miles). In Europe, the WLTP-rated range is 220 km (136 miles).
